Pumpkin Nog
Need something to get you into the holiday spirit? How about hot Pumpkin Nog! It is so yummy and warm and creamy. I have made it several times since Amy Johnson shared the recipe with me. Now I’m going to share it with all of you! You can also drink this cold if you can resist guzzling it all down as soon as it is made. This recipe makes 2-3 servings depending on size but I have been known to make it while my kids are doing their daily quiet time so that I won’t have to share.
I’m also going to tell you how to make it LOD compatible if you need that. I am drinking the LOD version myself.
Hot Pumpkin Nog
- 2 eggs
- 2 TBSP butter
- 2 TBSP Coconut Oil
- 2 TBSP Honey
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1/2 cup pumpkin (or any orange winter squash like butternut)
- 2 cups hot water
- Ground Cinnamon (optional)
Put all ingredients into blender in order shown then blend. Pour into a mug and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Enjoy!
LOD version
Instead of cinnamon on top sprinkle Nutmeg. Nutmeg is a much lower oxalate spice.
Also instead of pumpkin pie spice I use one drop each of Be Young Cinnamon Essential Oil and Be Young Clove Essential Oil. To order these superior quality essential oils at a great price see this page. Be Young Essential Oils

Mmm, noggy… Thanks for sharing on GAPS Friendly Friday, Patty!
Wow! I just tried this and it is AMAZINGLY delicious! This is destined to be my favorite winter drink of all time! (I’m not on GAPS, but I am moving towards an all real food diet.)

My son and I have been enjoying this for breakfast for the past few weeks! Thanks for sharing![:)](../wp-includes/images/smilies/simple-smile.png)
This post might be nearly a year old - and all I had was sweet potatoes… and decided on using milk even though it calls for water… and it’s delicious. THAT is from a non-NOG person! I will have to half the recipe - unless I plan on sharing it. It’s also very rich.
This is very good! However, 2 tbsp of honey is way too much (iho). Had a hard time getting it down the first time because it was so rich and sweet. I added 1/2 a tablespoon the second time I made it; and it was just perfect …:) Thanks for the recipe! My mother and I are enjoying our Christmas with this as a great festive alternative.
Just curious, it says hot nog. But the recipe says blend and pour in a mug. Is there a step I am missing?
The water that you add when you make it is hot. That cooks the eggs.
