Green PolkaDot Box Shopping List
A few days ago I wrote Have you joined the Green PolkaDot Box yet? I promised in that post to share what my family has been buying.
Over and over again I get asked “What do you buy at the Green PolkaDot Box?” Answering that question is a bit tricky since the inventory is still changing a lot so some things that I have purchased in the past are not available right now and new things are arriving all the time. I do not know when and if some of the products I have purchased in the past will be available again.
So without further ado here is a listing of most of the products that I have purchased from Green PolkaDot Box over the past 6 months that they have been in business.

Disclaimer: Not every member of my family is on a Low Oxalate Diet so some of these foods are high oxalate although most aren’t. Canned tomato products, lemon and lime juice are not technically GAPS legal but they do not seem to be a problem for my family. The are allowed on SCD which is the diet that GAPS is based on. Most balsamic vinegar has added sugar and carmel color and is therefore not GAPS legal but GPDB sells two that are just grapes that we use. I do not live in the western part of the United States so I cannot participate in the Harvest Fresh Program yet so this does not reflect purchases that would be possible if I did. I just looked through what they are offering this week and I see lots of low oxalate produce options. It does require a significant purchase (you can’t just get just 1 lemon or even 1 bag of lemons) but all of the produce is organic and delivered to your door within 2 days of being picked. That is pretty amazing.
So go check out the Green Polkadot Box. See if what they offer would be foods and products that your family can use. Right now they are offering a one month free trial membership so what do you have to lose? If you decide GPDB is not for you right now don’t forget to check back. They are adding new foods and products all the time and soon will have fresh and frozen groceries and local produce available as well.

Patty, thanks for sharing the items you buy at Green Polka Dot. It helps me to know what others are ordering. I joined as a free member but have not yet placed an order. I order from Azure Standard through a food coop that is about 30 miles from me and the orders used to arrive on Wednesday afternoon like clockwork but Azure changed the shipping route and now they keep striving to arrive with our order on Wednesday but usually we are left hanging until late evening when we’re finally told to be up and at the drop sites early Thursday morning. I only mention this to say this is causing a lot of problems for me in picking up my order, since I work in a city 75 miles from the drop points! So I may look more closely into Green Polka Dot and see if they can provide me with an easier solution to getting the products I typically get from Azure.
Starlene,
Are you far enough west to get the produce? I’m not certain what states it covers but that alone might make it worth it. I am dreaming of a big box of cabbage to make into sauerkraut.
